Our principal, Kathleen Berck, has practiced extensively in family law since 1982. She is a highly respected family law solicitor with a reputation for her personal approach and commitment to client care.

Kathleen is a solicitor of the High Court of Australia. She is a Law Society approved mediator and a member of the Legal Aid Conferencing panel acting as a chairperson in mediation conferences. Kathleen also contributed as a volunteer for the Women's Legal Service over a ten year period.

Kassandra Neilson practices exclusively in the area of Family Law. Kassandra holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland. She was admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland and to the High Court of Australia in 2005. Kassandra is an accredited duty lawyer for adult and children’s criminal matters and has completed the Independent Children’s Lawyer course.

Catherine has practiced exclusively in family law since joining Berck Solicitors. Catherine had also previously worked for many years with children and young people in the field of Educational Psychology.

Kathleen Berck is registered to issue certificates under s 60I of the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth).

Kathleen is also experienced and able to mediate in the area of de facto property matters pursuant to the Property Law Act 1974 (Qld).

Kathleen has over twenty-nine years experience in dealing with family law matters in the Family Court, the Federal Magistrates Court, the Magistrates Court, the District Court and the Supreme Court of Queensland.
